Porsche has  a long history a s an independent automaker  with
inspiration, genius, technical excellence, once Porsche cars were the
preserve of the skilled driver exclusively, now while skill is still a great
help anyone can drive  a modern Porsche.

I have  along association with the marque from the early 356
& before it the humble but interesting VW beetle&variants, now I have
always a few 911 model 993s for sale & occasionally a rare 356.. These  993s
are the last of the air cooled 911s & these & the 356  are sought after
by Porsche purists & collectors alike.

The 911  model 993 above was followed by the 911 model 966, this
brought about a tremendous change in terms of power output , engine efficiency,
road holding  and comfort. It was also the first 911 with a water-cooled engine
, though the engine layout remained the traditional flat six . Some purists
were initially outraged at the change to water-cooling—however when they slid
in behind the wheel –the smile that broke out was irrepressible.

The 996 was followed by the 997 available in 3.6 & 3.8 liter
versions , a great number of improvements  that evolved with the 996 became
standard & improved upon in the 997 it is  a joy to behold d& to use.
The facelift 997 now sports the new direct injection engine & a PDK gearbox
is available if one selects the tiptronic option in the order sheet.

Around the corner is the 998 , the Pannamera, and the hybrid
& 4 cylinder strategies as Porsche engineers its way around d emission
laws, fuel consumption & the like
