To set up your TP-Link RE200, you can use the quick One-Key (WPS) method or the web-based setup. For the One-Key method, plug in the extender near your router, press the router’s WPS button, then press the RE200’s WPS button within two minutes. For the web setup, connect a device to the TPLink_extender network, open a browser to
tplinkrepeater.net, create a password, select your home Wi-Fi network, enter its password, and then relocate the extender. Quick Setup (WPS Method)
This is the simplest method.
- 1. Plug in the extender:Plug your RE200 into a power outlet near your main Wi-Fi router.
- 2. Press the WPS buttons:Within two minutes of each other, press the WPS button on your main router and then the WPS button on the RE200.
- 3. Wait for connection:The WPS LED on the RE200 will turn solid, indicating a successful connection.
- 4. Relocate the extender:You can now unplug the RE200 and move it to a different location to get better Wi-Fi signal strength.
Web Setup (Manual Method)
- Plug in the extender: Plug your RE200 into a power outlet near your router.
- Connect to the extender’s network: On your computer or mobile device, find the Wi-Fi settings and connect to the default extender network, which is usually named
TPLink_extender.
- Open a web browser: Launch a web browser and type
tplinkrepeater.netinto the address bar.
- Create a password: Create a password for the extender’s admin dashboard and log in.
- Select your network: The setup wizard will show you available networks; select your host router’s 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password: Enter the password for your home Wi-Fi network.
- Relocate the extender: Follow the on-screen instructions to move the RE200 to an optimal location for coverage.
